Commissioned for Sail250 VirginiaJune 2026

PatrickO’Brien.

History, carried on the wind.

Patrick trained in biology at UVA, worked as an illustrator for the Martin Agency in Richmond, and wrote twelve children’s books before turning to maritime oils in the early 2000s. His commissioned work has been chosen by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation, ExxonMobil, and Lockheed Martin, and his paintings have earned the Mystic Seaport Purchase Award and a long shelf of honors from the American Society of Marine Artists, which he now serves as president. This June his Sail250 Virginia commission arrives at Harbor Gallery for its Norfolk debut.

CommunityNorfolk, VA

HarborFest,fifty years strong.

Every year, Harbor Gallery is the exclusive seller of the official HarborFest posters and art, one of Norfolk’s most beloved traditions at the largest free festival on the East Coast. Tall ships, headline concerts, and fireworks over the Elizabeth River draw half a million visitors every summer.

Amy served on the Ghent Business Association board for sixteen years. Community has always been the quiet center of this place, and HarborFest is where that shows in public.
